The Ministry of Education (MOE) is once again conducting the 27th Annual Educational Convention starting today. Guided by a theme, “Our students will be successful in the Palauan society and the world”, this large convention focuses on four objectives. They are, Employees become familiar with various MOE programs, Employees participate in professional developments activities, Employees share best practices and learn from one another, and finally Employees rekindle friendships and renew commitments.
This three-day event will commence with an opening ceremony, a presentation from the Ministry of Human & Health Services and most notably, the presentation of this year’s Teachers of the Year awards. Such honor will be bestowed on selected dedicated teachers from all of Palau’s public and private schools including the announcement of 2021’s National Teacher of the Year. The second day will be filled with various educational sessions while the final 3rd day will be reserved for sports and team building activities followed by the closing ceremony.
Through this annual convention, educators will be taking on numerous trainings and educational sessions such as Enhancing learning using hands-on activities, Integration of cultural skills in the classroom, Promoting independent learning through technology as well as Improving healthy school lunches through team work and creativity to name a few.
With MOE being Palau’s largest Ministry in terms of employees, a large crowd is expected to attend this educational event that will be taking place at Ngarachamayong Cultural Center, Palau high school, and Track and field for the next three days.
