On December 20, 2017 at about 5:50 a.m. a combined effort by the Narcotics Enforcement Agency (NEA), Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Division of Custom’s K-9 Unit, and Officers from the Bureau of Public Safety’s Division of Corrections (DOC) executed a Search at the jailhouse. [restrict

The search came as a surprise to most of the inmates as most of them were still asleep at the time. The Operation yielded the confiscation of three cell phones, fishing lines outside and back to the jail fence, shanks (edged/sharp weapons), equipments, marijuana shred, and methamphetamines paraphernalia or tools. Investigations into the possession of these prohibited items are now underway and possible actions may be taken against those responsible for such unlawful acts.

The confiscated items are similar to, but fewer than, those found in the previous shakedowns in the Correction respectively. These unannounced shakedowns are paying off and will occur more often in the future. Thanks to all involved agencies for their work to help make the Correction safer for both the staff and inmates.
