PREP participants awarded Pandemic Customer Service & COVID-19 PPE Training at PCC Assembly Hall yesterday

Fifty-five (55) Palauans seeking employment received certifications yesterday from Palau Community College on Pandemic Customer Service and COVID-19 PPE Training.

“They are now certified and can be employed by companies, or agencies seeking trained employees in these areas,” stated Minister Ngirai Tmetuch of HRCT&D.

Most of the individuals that participated in the training were part of the PREP program under the HRCTC which seeks to help locals seeking employment to gain training and skills to be able to find jobs and compete in the job market.

The certification programs were made possible by partnerships of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Palau Community College Continuing Education Program, Ministry of HRCTD, and Peter Bonini of the Palau Pacific Resort.

President of Palau Community College Dr. Patrick Tellei encouraged continued training and upgrading of skills of the local workers so that they can be competitive against outside contract workers in Palau’s job market.

“I believe you are capable of competing in the job market, you just need to upgrade and enhance your skills and improve your customer service,” assured Minister Tmetuchl, addressing the participants yesterday at Palau Community College.
