A total of 596 students across Palau are scheduled to graduate or be promoted this year, with ceremonies taking place throughout May and June. The events mark important milestones for students, families, and educational institutions across the nation.
The graduation and promotion season began on May 16 with Palau Community College (PCC) holding its commencement ceremony. Additional ceremonies will continue over the coming weeks, highlighting academic transitions for students from both public and private schools, including those in the outer islands.
On May 29, Seventh Day Adventist Elementary School will promote 25 students, followed by Palau Mission Academy on June 1 with 11 students celebrating their achievements.
Students from public elementary schools in the outlying islands will be recognized on June 3. Thirteen students are scheduled to be promoted from the following schools:
- JPF Kayangel Elementary School – 1 student
- Peleliu Elementary School – 9 students
- Angaur Elementary School – 3 students
- Sonsorol and Pulo Ana Elementary Schools – no promotions this year
On June 4, elementary schools in Babeldaob will promote a total of 37 students:
- Ngarchelong Elementary School – 8 students
- Ngaraard Elementary School – 5 students
- Ngardmau Elementary School – 2 students
- Ngeremlengui Elementary School – 5 students
- Aimeliik Elementary School – 2 students
- Ibobang Elementary School – 3 students
- Melekeok Elementary School – 12 students
Central elementary schools will hold promotion ceremonies on June 5, recognizing 120 students:
- George B. Harris Elementary School – 31 students (10:00 AM)
- Koror Elementary School – 65 students (11:00 AM)
- Airai Elementary School – 11 students
- Meyuns Elementary School – 13 students
On June 6, Maris Stella School will hold a promotion ceremony for 21 students, including 4 kindergarteners and 17 eighth-graders.
The graduation season will conclude with high school ceremonies on June 6 and 7. Palau High School will lead with 126 graduates on June 6 at 9:00 AM. On June 7, Belau Modekngei School (10 graduates), Mindzenty High School (32 graduates), and Emmaus-Bethania High School (10 graduates) will hold their respective ceremonies at 9:00 AM.
These ceremonies reflect ongoing efforts across Palau to support student achievement and recognize educational progress. Families and communities are expected to participate in the events, which remain significant in marking the academic growth of the nation’s youth.
