An increasing number of road accidents in Palau have become a worrying factor for public road users.
Piles of cases from the Supreme Court of the Republic of Palau’s trial division based on court trials proved that most road accidents were most likely related to reckless driving under the influence of liquor, causing injuries to others or damages to properties.

Based on Police summary, accidents were said to have probable cause to support the charges being laid against each offender.
A report cited based on Police Blotter found 10 reported vehicle accidents occurred within a 1 week period of time from the 18th to the 26th of August.
Other cases delivered with counts of criminal property damage in a third degree for recklessly damaging properties of offence classified as misdemeanor include counts of driving recklessly with disregard of the lives of safety of the public.
These recorded accidents are related to consuming of liquor while or before driving resulting of being drunk and unable to control while driving.
Over speeding, driving on wrong lanes and overtaking in high speed contribute to the growing number of alarming vehicle accidents today. [/restrict]
