Although the weather condition has now quiet down, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Palau has reported as of 10:28am yesterday that another monsoon trough is seen Northwest of Palau from 13N130E extending Southeast to an elongated and weak circulation Southeast of Yap at 5N145E.

The satellite imagery shows that thunderstorm clouds are seen mainly far Northwest of Palau, according to NOAA. A very weak circulation just forming Northwest of Palau within the monsoon trough is also seen.

The trough and circulations, however, is expected to move slowly to the west during this week.

NOAA also reports that westerly winds are noted from gentle to moderate while seas heights are identified below the hazardous levels.

“Light to moderate showers are spotty over Palau but may increase in coverage, duration and intensity” by today, September 18, and for the rest of the week. (Rhealyn C. Pojas)
