New Media Centre for 2025 Pacific Mini Games
6 June 2025– The Palau National Olympic Committee (PNOC) and the Australian Embassy are proud to announce their collaboration on the establishment of a dedicated Media Centre for the 2025 Pacific Mini Games in Palau.
With the support of the Australian Government, the Media Centre will serve as the operational hub for all media coverage of the Games. It will provide a central space for domestic and international media teams to coordinate, produce and share real-time coverage of the Games. The Centre will play a key role in ensuring the Games and Palau are showcased across the Pacific, and that the achievements of the region’s athletes are celebrated.
“This support for our Games media efforts will serve the crucial establishment of the Media Centre. It will help ensure the Centre is fully equipped with the necessary resources for media operations, broadcasting, and journalism, including staff support to implement the media plan for the Games” said Secretary General Baklai Temengil-Chilton.
“The Palau National Olympic Committee and the Pacific Mini Games Organizing Committee extend their sincere appreciation to the Government of Australia—through the Australian Embassy in Palau—and to His Excellency Mr Toby Sharpe for his prompt support of this essential component of the Games. This partnership strengthens our capacity not only to host a successful event in Palau but also to ensure access and visibility across Oceania through our local media, regional platforms, the Palau Media Council, and ABCDI.”
Managed by the Palau Media Council in close coordination with PNOC and the 2025 Pacific Mini Games Organizing Committee, the Media Centre will feature studio space for broadcasting, content production and interview zones. Freelance media professionals and volunteers will support daily operations, ensuring smooth delivery of daily highlights and comprehensive Games coverage.
“Our support for the Media Centre is a practical example of how Australia and Palau are working together to amplify the voices and achievements of Pacific athletes, celebrate sporting excellence and strengthen local media” said HE Mr Toby Sharpe, Australian Ambassador to Palau. “Australia is proud to support Palau deliver a world-class Games experience, especially in the lead up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.”
The Media Centre is currently being established and will be fully functional by the opening of the Games. Volunteers will assist with Media Center logistics, as well as support media staff and operations throughout the duration of the Games.
