1 December 2022— The Australian Embassy continues to support activities and events focused on people with disabilities and disability inclusive development. In April 2021, the Australian Embassy sponsored the first annual people with disability sports award category. In December 2021, through the PacificAuSports Program, the Australian Embassy collaborated with the Palau Track and Field Association to host a sports carnival for the 2021 International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
This year, the Australian Embassy is pleased to donate US$500 to support OMEKESANG and Parents Empowered organised events and activities for the 2022 International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The Australian Government seeks to promote and encourage support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities around the world and acknowledge the gains derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic, cultural and sporting life.
