AIRAI, Palau — September 28, 2025
Palau’s 31st Independence Day Boat Race wasn’t just about horsepower and speed — it also became the launchpad for a new homegrown business. Beluad Enterprise, founded by 29-year-old Rimuu Salii Williams, made its official debut on Sunday along the Airai side of the race, bringing fresh energy and Palauan pride to the celebration.

Williams, who lives in Ngerbeched and carries roots from Aimeliik, Peleliu, Anguar, and Ngaraard, named her brand Beluad Enterprise to reflect the deep connection between people, land, and culture. Her inspiration: being Palauan.

Beluad’s first collection featured catchy shirts ($30) and stickers ($5) desiged to represent several States in Palau, sold through a lively pop-up booth. While she isn’t taking custom orders yet, Williams plans to host more pop-up sales at community events before expanding to an online storefront to reach Palauan communities abroad.

Williams credits her grandmother, Dilbuked Christina Salii, as a major influence and inspiration.

Her message to others like her who want to start a business in creativity is clear: “It’s possible.”
