KOROR, Palau – The five young women competing for the title of Dil Belau 2025 have officially launched their campaigns, introducing themselves through video messages and kicking off a series of pre-event activities leading up to the main event on August 21.Representing their respective states, each contestant is advocating for youth-centered issues, including mental health, community empowerment and traditional values.

Miss Airai — Kirari Edna Delong, 18, is a recent graduate of Palau High School and a native of Ikoranges, Airai. Delong said she hopes to use the platform to promote youth activities and inspire unity. “If I win, I will do my best to assist the public, especially our elders,” she said.

Miss Koror — Sydney Dirraklai Fransisco is a youth Olympian and medalist in athletics. She is passionate about mental health awareness and said she wants to help normalize open conversations about healing. “Today’s generation faces challenges that aren’t always visible,” Fransisco said. “Mental health has become one of our most pressing issues.”

Miss Ngatpang — Auryn Uriik Benhart is studying Information and Technology at Palau Community College and is involved in several youth-focused organizations. “I want to be a guiding light for my friends, my peers and the youth of Palau,” she said.

Miss Ngarchelong — Ulang Maikale Oilouch, 21, works with the emergency health program and also grew up in Meyuns and Meketii. A strong mental health advocate, she encouraged the public to seek help when needed. “Don’t be afraid or ashamed to ask for help,” Oilouch said. “You can also call 775-TALK and they will help you.”

Miss Peleliu — Klei Nadyn Andreas is a business accounting graduate from Palau Community College and currently works at PNCC. She enjoys the outdoors and is equally passionate about mental wellness. “To care for your mind is to grow it, guide it and give it rest,” Andreas said.

Upcoming pre-event activities include a traditional photo shoot at the Belau National Museum and a pitch session where each contestant must present a creative program idea to support youth development in Palau.

The Dil Belau event is not a traditional beauty pageant. Instead, it focuses on traditional wear, cultural talent, and advocacy-based Q&A sessions.

According to the Palau National Youth and Eldebechel Council, the goal of the competition is to select a youth ambassador and advocate who will serve as a role model for Palau’s young people.

The winner will receive a monthly stipend, professional development opportunities, and mentorship as they represent Palauan youth nationally, regionally, and internationally.
