Steve Kerr said his Golden State Warriors side “had no purpose” in a defeat against the Sacramento Kings, during which he was ejected after storming onto the court to vent his fury at the officials.
Kerr unleashed a foul-mouthed rant and had to be held back by assistant coach Mike Brown as his frustration got the better of him after Kevon Looney was penalised for two loose-ball fouls just 18 seconds apart.

The NBA Coach of the Year was ushered away following the incident in the third quarter at Golden 1 Center on Saturday and his mood did not improve as the Warriors were consigned to a 109-106 overtime defeat.
Warriors head coach Kerr pulled no punches with his verdict on his players’ performance in Sacramento, where their five-match winning run came to an end.
“We got what we deserved, before I was tossed and after,” Kerr said.
“It was one of the worst games we’ve played all season. We had no purpose, the ball didn’t move… I didn’t even recognise our team out there tonight.
