Today at a special handover ceremony at the Palau Ministry of Education, Ambassador Wallace M.G. Chow of the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) presented a donation of 70 laptops and 763 tablets with accessories to private schools in Palau – Palau Mission Academy, Seventh Day Adventist, Emmaus-Bethania High School, Belau Modekngei School, Maris Stella School, and Mindszenty High School. The donation ensures that every student in each of the private schools will have a tablet and every teacher will have a laptop when schools begin next month. The donation will allow for students and teachers to access online digital information and knowledge as well as participate in virtual forums.

President Surangel Whipps, Jr., on behalf of the people of Palau, thanked Ambassador Chow for the generous donation. He acknowledged that the Embassy of the Republic China (Taiwan) has contributed to so much more than just Palau’s infrastrcuture – construction of roads and develoment of agriculture. This donation increases the capacity of private schools to provide enhanced educational services and provides opportunities for their students to advance in their studies.
