PPUC reported fire on top of power pole in front of Bank of Guam on October 16 to be due to lightening strike.
The fire was reported at 4:15pm in the afternoon on the center transformer. It was determined upon inspection that the was due to excessive voltage from lightening which burned the neutral line and starting the fire on the transformer.
PPUC thank the public for quickly alerting them of the incident which ensured quick response and power restoration to Bank of Hawaii which was the only customer affected by the power outage.
