November 10, 2017 (Koror, Palau) Home health care or medical care delivered to an elderly or person with life-limiting illness or injury at home will be implemented early next year, according to Health Care Fund Administrator Ulai Teltull.


Health Care Fund Regulations, after going through extensive APA process was approved by President Tommy E. Remengesau Jr. on October 27, 2017.

The regulations approved alternatives to hospital stays such as Home Healthcare, Skilled Nursing Facility or Hospice to be included in the insurance coverage.

In other words, an elderly or an injured person or sick person that is bed ridden or has life-limiting condition, can stay home and his or her medical at home or other facility beside the hospital can be covered under the HCF insurance.

According to ms. Teltull, implementation details are being worked on now and the program can be launched as early as January of next year. [/restrict]
