On March 29, Julio Ometei Ringang took his oath of office administered by President Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. as Director of the Bureau of Public Safety (BPS).
Director Ringang’s career in law enforcement spans nearly 25 years – starting off as a Police Officer I in 1992 where he moved up in ranks and various leadership capacities until his designation as Acting Director of BPS in February 2016.
President Remengesau remarked, “if Ometei where to bleed, he would bleed blue. Growing up in a police and law enforcement environment where he trailed behind his late father, Sabino Ringang, a career police officer, Ometei followed his footsteps and joined the force that led to his directorship”. Congratulating Director Ringang, President Remengesau further urged all law enforcement officers of the Ministry of Justice to work closely in partnership to maintain the nation’s security.
Vice President and Minister of Justice Raynold Oilouch acknowledged the heavy responsibilities carried by law enforcement officers in the protection of lives and property, and further expressed the Ministry’s deep commitments to maintaining and defending the nation’s safety, security and peace.
