KOROR, Palau — Koror State marks its 42nd anniversary of its Constitution on today, October 21, 2025, with a daylong celebration that honors its framers and looks ahead to a new chapter of community development.
The official morning program will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ngeremlakl Long Island Conservation Park with the unveiling of a new pathway linking the park to Ongelungel. The project is described as a symbol of connection and progress, bridging past generations with future aspirations while reaffirming the values of stewardship.
Following the formal ceremony, a luncheon will be held in honor of the framers of the Koror State Constitution, whose vision laid the foundation for the state’s governance more than four decades ago.
Community festivities will extend from the afternoon into the late evening, with cultural performances, a fashion show, and live music scheduled from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. The events are open to the public, reflecting what organizers call the “vibrant spirit” of Koror.
The Koror State 42nd Constitution Day Committee emphasized the central role of the framers in this milestone, noting that their legacy continues to shape the state’s development.
“This celebration is dedicated to honoring the enduring work of our framers, linking communities and generations, and bridging the values of the past with the aspirations of the future,” the committee stated in its invitation.
Distinguished guests, including constitution framers and community leaders, have been invited to join the day’s commemorations. Kirby and Posa will peform after the official program until 4pm and Kelau and Kendall will perform at the night market with special number by DMP.
DPM is a Pacific reggae band originally from Honiara, Solomon Islands, known for their soulful island reggae sound. They have a strong fan base across the Pacific, including Papua New Guinea. The group recently traveled extensively through four countries and is currently in Palau. They are set to perform live on Koror’s Constitutional Day at Ngermalk Long Island Park, bringing their vibrant reggae energy to the celebration. DMP features multiple vocalists and musicians and has performed at notable events such as the 2025 Honiara HipHop Dance Competition and New Year’s Eve Countdown in Honiara.
In Papua New Guinea, alongside DMP’s regional presence, reggae and hip-hop artists like Tonton Malele and Naka Blood blend traditional languages and culture with modern rhythms, enriching the Pacific music scene.
