On Saturday August 29, Palasia Hotel was packed for the Luis Kaluu concert.

Over 500 tickets were purchased to watch one of Palau’s most prolific musicians perform.

The concert drew in a large crowd to celebrate the three (3) decades of a Palauan usician’s career.

Kaluu’sdaughter Lucille and his wife Pamela opened the event with an opening act

before the concert.

After that Luis took to the state singing some of his popular hits to the crowd. One of the attendees said he liked that before singing the songs, Luis would provide a brief explanation about the song.

One of the high point of the concert was the touching moment when Luis and his wife

Pamela had a moment to dance together.

President Tommy Remengesau and former Vice-President Tony Bells gave an award especially made for him to recognize and honor his contributions to music in Palau.

The concert was extended another 30 minutes asper request of the audience.

Luis Kaluuconcert was scheduled earlier this year at Island Paradise Hotel but due to a legal action taken against the hotel owners, the concert was canceled.

Luis Kaluu hadsang in different night clubs in Palau, family functions (omengat), local events, and at overseas events. He has a lot of songs under his belt that he composed, sang, and recorded over the years.
