August 28, 2017 (Koror, Palau) President Tommy E. Remengesau submitted his appointment of Ms. Jeraldine Ebil Tudong to the post of Ambassador to the European Union to Senate for confirmation on August 25th, 2017. [restrict

Ms. Tudong comes highly recommended. “Ms. Tudong’s extensive experience representing Palau at various United Nations bodies, strong relationship with Palau’s diplomatic corps and her institutional knowledge of Palau’s diplomatic agendas make her most suitable for this important assignment”, recommended President Remengesau.

Tudong holds a Masters of Arts’ Degree in Foreign Affairs and Trade from Monash University of Australia and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Politics and History from University of Wollongong, New South Wales of Australia.

Her current post is Chief of the Division of Foreign Affairs under the Ministry of State of the Republic of Palau. She has served and represented Palau in various forums under Foreign Affairs since year 2000.

Ms. Tudong will be the third woman appointed to an ambassadorial position under Remengesau’s administration. First appointed was Ambassador Dilmei Olkeriil as Palau’s ambassador to the Republic of China.  Second was Ms. Olai Uludong as Palau’s Ambassador to United Nations.

If confirmed by the Senate, Ms. Tudong will join her colleagues serving the Republic under also a woman Minister, Minister of State Faustina Rehuher-Marugg. [/restrict]
