On February 24, more than 20 preschoolers aged 4-5 from Ngerbeched Head Start Center visited the Taiwan Technical Mission farm in Aimeliik and Palau Community College – Cooperative Research & Extension (PCC-CRE) farm in Ngeremlengui in their first field trip of the school year.

The preschoolers along with their parents who accompanied them on the trip were given the opportunity to learn more about agriculture through a hands-on experience. The students were given a brief introduction of plants found at the Taiwan Technical Mission farm in Aimeliik, toured the grounds as well as enjoyed the fruits and vegetables served by the farm’s staff.
In Ngeremlengui, the children learned more about PCC-CRE’s efforts in the area of agriculture, plant reproduction techniques, toured the grounds and visited their piggery site.
In addition to enjoying the field trip with their school mates, parents were also able to learn more about different plants and farming methods in Palau and ways in which they can venture into home gardening and other possibilities presented in agriculture. [/restrict]
