KOROR, Palau (July 1, 2025) — The Pacific Mini Games 2025 opened with vibrant color, traditional dances, and a dazzling fireworks display on Sunday, marking the Games’ return to Palau after 20 years. Despite a rain shower, the festivities brought energy and pride as more than 2,000 athletes and officials— the most since the event began in 1981— gathered to kick off the competition.

Interest in the Games is surging across the region, with nearly 20,000 viewers tuning in to watch the opening ceremony on the official Pacific Mini Games 2025 YouTube channel. Social media platforms have also reported thousands more engaging with highlights and coverage of the launch.
