On October 2017 Palau Association of Libraries (PAL) received a donation of 10 boxes of books and DVDs from an anonymous donor in the U.S. Mr. Surangel Whipps, Jr. facilitated the delivery of the 10 boxes by providing a space in his inbound container and also his employees for delivery to the Ministry of Education.

PAL officers and members would like to thank Mr. Surangel Whipps, Jr. for his generosity and support. He has recently provided assistance through in-kind donation in helping PAL to provide reading materials locally as well as to our neighboring island of Yap.
The donations will strengthen one of PAL’s goals, which is to promote literacy and reading in Palau. The donations were received by PAL officers and librarians and has been sorted and distributed to public school libraries. [/restrict]
