From October 24th to 26th, Palau will proudly host the highly anticipated Micro Cup, a vibrant canoe racing competition that promises to bring together top athletes from across the Pacific and beyond. This year’s event will feature a wide variety of races, including open men and women categories, mixed team events, masters divisions, and spirited junior competitions.
Racing formats will include exciting sprints and endurance challenges over distances of 500 meters, 1500 meters, and long-distance team races (V6). Participants will compete in diverse groups such as open, masters, and junior boys and girls, with events ranging from individual 500-meter races (V1) to intense 1500-meter team events (V6).
Representing the regional canoeing community, teams from Guam, Saipan, the Marshall Islands, Seattle, Singapore, and Hawaii are expected to participate. While travel and accommodation details for the visiting teams are still being finalized, anticipation is already building for what promises to be an exhilarating competition.
Palau’s local athletes are preparing vigorously for the challenge ahead, eager to showcase their skills and compete on home waters. The community is encouraged to rally behind these athletes and welcome their international counterparts in a spirit of friendly rivalry and cultural exchange.
