July 9 Palau’s Constitution will reach the 38th year since its ratification on July 9, 1980. It went into effect on January 1, 1981 after its ratification.
This year the focus again is on the framers of the Constitution, the members of 1st and the 2nd Convention. Dinner reception will be held at Palasia in honor of the framers.
Other activities in celebration of the anniversary including fishing derby for young men ages 14 and under. There will also be a taro patch farming activity for young ladies, also age 14 and under. The programs are being coordinated by the Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs and any interested persons may contact their office.
