On August 6-10, 2018, the Office of the Public Auditor (OPA) of the Republic of Palau will host the 2018 Association of Pacific Islands Public Auditors (APIPA) Conference.
Since March 2018, the OPA has partnered with the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Office of Insular Affairs, and the Graduate School USA’s Pacific Islands Training Initiative (PITI) to identify courses and instructors for the week. Courses will be offered in the fields of Auditing, Accounting and Finance, and with training delivered at two levels: Advanced and Basic. Instructors for the courses are subject-matter experts recruited by the Graduate School USA in the United States from various professions and background including academia, financial consulting, practicing Certified Public Accountants, Auditors, and other professionals.
The OPA anticipates over 250 off-island participants attending APIPA, representing Guam, the Federated States of Micronesia (including the four states: Pohnpei, Chuuk, Yap, and Kosrae), the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands (CNMI), the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the United States, American Samoa, Samoa, Fiji, Kiribati, and others. The OPA also anticipates huge participation from the national and state governments and their respective agencies from accounting, auditing, and finance offices.
Interested individuals or entities should visit the APIPA Website to register on-line or browse the schedule of courses and activities. The Website is: www.apipa2018.org.
