KOROR, Palau – Palau Conservation Society (PCS) is pleased to announce the selection of Abolade “Bola”Majekobaje as its new Executive Director. Bola will be filling the vacancy created by Mario Katosang who retired in May 2016. The selection was made by the PCS Board of Directors after a regional search.

Bola will bring leadership, creativity and a deep sense of commitment to PCS’ mission to work with the community to preserve the nation’s unique natural environment and perpetuate its conservation ethic for the economic and social benefit of present and future generations of Palauans and for the enjoyment and education of all.
Majekobaje isa Palauan from Ngaraard State and also has Nigerian heritage. She was raised and educated in the United States and is a graduate of the University of Oregon with a BA in Biology. Bola brings 10+ years of experience that includes: strategic leadership, student/staff development, social change work, group facilitation, and program creation and management. The bulk of her career has been spent in the higher education sector; she has also provided leadership for various non-profit organizations. Before moving to Palau in July 2016, Bola served as Advisor to the Chancellor and Assistant Director for Student Diversity at Washington State University in Vancouver, Washington. Majekobaje is currently employed by the Republic of Palau Ministry of Health.
Palau Conservation Society is a nonprofit organization founded in 1994 by local citizens striving to act with and on behalf of our communities as a steward of Palau’s environment. Bola’s appointment, which will begin in mid-February, comes at an appropriate time to help finalize and implement PCS’ strategic plan and put goals into action through 2020.
