This month marks 23 years for Palau Conservation Society (PCS), the first and only conservation-focused, Palau NGO with a national scope. PCS will commemorate this milestone with a series of activities. The first is the PCS Annual General Membership meeting on Tuesday, June 13, noon-1:30 pm at Bai ra Maiberel. The event is open to the public and will be an opportunity for members and supporters to celebrate the accomplishments of the past year and provide insight and feedback. Lunch will be served and will feature food from conservation projects in which PCS is involved, including the Northern Reef Fisheries Coop. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP for the event by calling 488-3993.

The next day, June 14, PCS’ official birthday, members and supporters are encouraged to show their love for PCS by posting photos of themselves in PCS t-shirts or holding signs that say “I heart PCS” and using the hashtag #heartPCS. Staff will also be visiting various offices on Wednesday to encourage participation. “We’re hoping the “I heart PCS” campaign goes viral,” said staff from PCS.

Throughout June, PCS will be engaging in a fundraising push from Corporate Partners for Conservation (CPC) and individual donors. Funding from local businesses and individuals makes PCS’ community-driven work possible. Many long-time CPC supporters understand that preserving the environment is good for the environment and good for the economy.

PCS has a lot to celebrate and looks forward to 23 more years of commitment to conservation, community and culture. [/restrict]
