Over 50 people participated in a 3km and 6km fun run and walk this weekend on Peleliu. Organized by Peleliu State and Cleared Ground Demining, the runners and walkers started off at 6am from Peleliu’s Sth Dock also known as Camp Bec. Visitors from Koror joined the local community and tourists on Peleliu, resulting in 9 nationalities taking part with Palau, UK, Australia, Fiji, Philippines, US, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Venezuela represented.

In the 6km race the first three men across the line were Tom Kalensky first, Steve Ballinger second followed by Morgan Matsuoka third, whilst in the ladies 6km race the first three across the line were Riuch Matsuoka first, Cassandra McKeown second and MJ Aynnan third. In the 3km race the top three places went to Kate Vaskova first, Jim Oliver second and Alex Cruz third.

Following the success of the 3km and 6km walk and run, Peleliu plans to schedule a similar event on Saturday 21st January 2017 and welcomes all participants. [/restrict]
