Palau International Coral Reef Center intern Mira Eyangel Mariur began her studies at Palau Community College in 2015 as an Environment/Marine Science major.

She chose to have her internship at PICRC to learn about current problems faced by our environment and proposed solutions for conserving it.

During her internship at PICRC, Ms. Mariur has been working on a socio-economic study of Palau’s PAN in Koror-Ngerbeched.

Through her surveys Mira is hoping to understand communities’ views and perceptions of the protected areas network. This study will provide quantitative results to help managers in effectively managing protected areas. (PR)
