The Palau Organic Growers Association (POGA) had elected new set of officers during its initial meeting for this year.

Carolyn Ngiraidis was elected as its new president while Tarita Holms and Lorraine Tellei were also elected as the Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer, respectively.

POGA is a non-profit corporation chartered in Palau on March 22, 2011 whose mission is to be a resource center that promotes organic methods and techniques to facilitate sustainable growth and development of agriculture, aquaculture, fisheries and food processing sectors to increase local food production and consumption to meet domestic market demands and reduce Palau’s dependence on imports.

Meanwhile, POGA’s outgoing President, Minister Faustina R. Marugg, remains a close advisor and member of the organization.

The organization is open to anyone who is interested to join. Annual membership dues of $20 and attendance in monthly/special meetings are the only requirements.
