On Tuesday, July 17, Palau Public Utilities Corporation (PPUC) Board of Directors, management and staff bid farewell to Techalb Ted Merep, who completed his 4-year term as a member of the Board.

Merep served as a member of the PPUC Board of Directors following his appointment by President Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. in 2013 and subsequent confirmation from the Senate of the 9th Olbiil Era Kelulau.

During his tenure at PPUC, Merep was involved in the discussions, meetings and negotiations of major projects, including the JICA Water Improvement Project and the Koror-Airai Sanitation Project.

Merep emphasized, “Good maintenance plan and major support to power plant operations by the PPUC Board and management is critical in ensuring continued efficient and effective services to the public”.

Prior to his membership with PPUC, Merep served 43 years at the Roinamur Power Plant in the Marshall Islands prior to his retirement in 2005. [/restrict]
