President Tommy Remengesau, Jr. has travelled to New York to participate in the high-level dinner convened by the Secretariat of the UN Biodiversity Convention in partnership with UN Environment, the United Nations Development Programme and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
The dinner, which will be held on July 16 at the United Nations Delegates Dining Room, United Nations Headquarters in New York, is themed “Innovations and Solutions for Safeguarding Life on Earth” where invited guests would engage in a discussion about “multi-faceted innovations and their potential to help scale up technology and investments towards the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity for sustainable development.”
Around 250 participants composed of high-level representatives from governments, UN system, international organizations, civil society, private sector, and other stakeholders are expected to join in the event.
The high-level dinner aims to facilitate “open exchange of insights and experiences” to attain the Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7) on energy. (Rhealyn C. Pojas)
