May 11, 2017 (Koror, Palau) President Tommy Remengesau Jr. is travelling off-island for the next two weeks with first visit to Hilo, Hawaii where he will deliver the keynote address at the University of Hilo’s 2017 Spring Commencement Exercise scheduled for Saturday, May 13th.
According to report from the Office of the President, he will be travelling to Thailand to attend the 73rd United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (UNESCAP) meeting with the theme “Regional Cooperation for Sustainable Energy”.
President Remengesau is expected to be joined by other world leaders and senior officials including President baron Divavesi Waga of Nauru, Prime Minister Enele Sosene Sopoaga of Tuvalue and Prime Minister Samuel Akilisi Pohiva of Tonga.
The UNESCAP meeting will take place from 15th to the 19th of May at the United Nations Conference Center in Bangkok. [/restrict]
