Almost 100 days into his second term, President Remengesau will deliver his State of the Republic Address on April 13 and is expected to highlight the economic situation of the country and it’s policy direction for the next years on his term.

The annual address, typically delivered before a joint session of Congress in Ngerulmud, gives the president an opportunity to encourage Congress and the public to support his policies.

As a returning president, Remengesau’s address is expected to list his accomplishments from last year and not only about the first months of his presidency.

Remengesau is also expected to talk about tourism and the challenges it faces with the declining tourism numbers.

The president is also expected to highlight the “quality over quantity” policy on tourism amid the decreased arrivals in 2016. [/restrict]
