First Lady Debbie Remengesau along with the assistance from the Office of the President, The Universal Peace Federation, and the Women’s Federation for World Peace are set to co-host the very first Asia Pacific First Ladies Summit 2019 starting from December 9th all the way until the 12th in Koror, Palau.

Expected guests include Co-Founder of Universal Peace Federation Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon along with First Ladies from the Asia-Pacific region. In addition to them, 200 international women leaders, law makers, prominent personalities from civil society, and leaders from interfaith groups will assemble alongside First Lady Remengesau so that they can find “solutions to critical challenges that the nation and the world faces.

First Lady Remengesau believes that mothers play a crucial role in society by helping to nurture communities and to safeguard the environment for the next generation to come. She also believes that by having the Asia Pacific region First Ladies and international women leaders come together, it will help bring awareness and will encourage actions for the sake of prosperity as well as sustainability.

During the Asia Pacific First Ladies Summit, the leaders will discuss a wide range of topics from strengthening social and family relations, health and wellness, sustainable development, and youth empowerment. Finally, the leaders will also endorse a resolution to establish a new association known as the International Association of First Ladies for Peace in support of the overarching goals of the UN’s Global Development Agenda.
