On January 5, 2018, the Vice President and Minister of Justice Raynold B. Oilouch signed an amended Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Health (MOH) that establishes a shared commitment framework for Strategic Prevention Framework Partnership for Success Grant Projects.
The grant is received by the Division of Behavioral Health at the Ministry of Health called “Partnership for Success” and comes in a three tier approach for Schools, Communities, and Government Agencies.
The Project’s goal is to establish, strengthen, and mobilize communities and partners to prevent substance use and abuse among all youth in Palau between the ages of 12-20. Parties to the MOU further envision that every youth shall be protected from harms of alcohol, tobacco, and drugs through increased youth knowledge, awareness, and skills in reducing risks.
As also stipulated in the MOU, both parties agree that cooperation, collaboration, and coordination of a set of effective strategies shall maximize reach and impact of limited resources to improve the youth outcomes in the justice system. [/restrict]
