Kendall T., a local star, graced audiences with live music, accompanied by Kayama on the keyboard and Colby “OP” Ngotel on lead guitar, who had the audience to dancing to favorite songs before the night ended. The audience also enjoyed a special dance appearance from Palau High School Sophomores “No Limits” who performed the previous Night Market hosted by Palau High School. Their dance was followed by a beautiful performance by the female dancers of Ngardmau State.
The Filipino Community in Palau launched their singing contest with three contestants starting off the competition singing some great tunes. The three contestants will continue competing through-out the next month for cash and gift certificate prizes.
Tourists enjoyed another great evening, and in particular, one tourist, “Jane” from Michigan pointed out “I love the Night Market because I get to see the traditional dancing in Palau”. Night Markets give opportunities for tourists to experience the local culture, food and arts in one setting.
The total sales made from the fifteen vendors was $4,226.30. The Ernguul Central Park total visitors to the Night Market were at 1,226 with a total of 434 tourists and 792 locals.
The next Night Market will be on next payday Friday March 17th. If you are interested in becoming a vendor for the Night Market, please contact Kate Mad at 488-1930/2793.
