KOROR, Palau — After the excitement of the Pacific Mini Games, Palau is set to host nother major event — the Super American Circus, bringing three days of world-class performances to the Palau National Gym from July 18 to 20.
The traveling production promises a thrilling lineup of acts for families and visitors alike, including aerial ballet, high-skill balancing routines, daring crossbow performances, and laugh-out-loud clown antics.
“This is the event of the year – you don’t want to miss it,” said Tuffy Nicholas, producer of the Super American Circus. “Safety is a big deal for us. Inspections are done quite often, and we always take necessary safety measures.”
Performances will run across the three days with multiple showtimes:
Friday, July 18:
● 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM
● 8:00 PM – 9:30 PM
Saturday, July 19:
● 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM
● 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM
● 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Sunday, July 20:
● 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM
● 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM
● 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM
The idea to bring the circus to Palau came from a chance meeting between George Bell, owner of Palau Unlimited, and Nicholas in Guam. “George and I became good friends, and he suggested we bring the show to Palau,” Nicholas said. With offices in Florida and Hawaii, and a permanent show in Guam, the circus saw an opportunity to expand its reach into the Pacific.
The event is made possible through the support of various sponsors, including the Palau Visitors Authority, the Ministry of Human Resources, Culture, Tourism and Development (MHRCTD), Palau Unlimited, Palau Central Hotel, Palau Shipping, Asia Pacific Airlines, Six80 Motorsports, Shimbros, the House of Delegates, Babeldaob Waste Company, Triple B Forwarders, Koror State Government and others. Their sponsorship ensures that children 12 years old and under will be able to attend the circus for free.
Tickets are available online at www.superamericancircus.com or can be purchased in person at Palau Unlimited, located at the Harbor View Commercial Building in Malakal, Koror. For updates, the circus also maintains a Facebook page under “Super American Circus.”
