Visitor arrivals for October up by 7.1%

November 20, 2017 (Koror, Palau) Visitor arrival to Palau for the month of October is showing improvement over September numbers. Arrivals for October increased by 7.1% over September, according to PVA Arrival statistics. Markets showing increase include Taiwan, China and Europe, with largest increase from China.

With two months remaining in the year, total visitor arrivals is 103,443 compared to 118,174 same time last year.  Year 2016 total arrivals was at 138,430.  To match 2016 arrival numbers, Palau need to see approximately 34,987 visitors this November and December.

October 2017 arrival numbers are very close to 2013 numbers that had total arrival of 108,250 visitors before the influx of charter flights.

China remains the biggest source market with 55% of total market share followed by Japan with 17%, Taiwan with 8%, South Korea with 8%, USA/Canada with 5%, Europe with 4% and Others with 3%. [/restrict]
