The Council of Chiefs, in letters to President Surangel Whipps Jr., Senate President Hokkons Baules, and House Speaker Sabino Anastacio, informed the leadership that the seat of Ibedul at the Council of Chiefs (Rubekul Belau) has been filled the new Ibedul Alexander Merep.
In the letter, High Chief Reklai Bao Ngirmang said that now Ibedul Alexander Merep serve as co-chairman of the Rubekul Belau.
Ibedul Alexander Merep was presented to the Rubekul Belau (Council of Chiefs) on April 20, 2022 “pursuant to Article 8, Section 6 of the Palau Consitution.
It was alleged that Ibedul Alexander Merep was not invited to SORA or the 7th Ocean Conference or acknowledged in both events.
The letter signed by Chief Reklau Raphael Ngirmang asks that all courtesies be extended to Ibedul Alexander Merep.
All ambassadors, consulates, state governors, state speakers, and the public at large were cc’d the copy of the Rubekul Belau’s notice.
