Judge D. Abraham, Aids to Navigation Technician II at the Bureau of Marine Transportation, has been accepted to JICA’s KCCP Training Program.  He will be participating in Hydrography for Charting and Disaster Management from July 7 to December 19, 2025 in Oita, Japan.

The objective of this program is to be certified to Internationally Accredited Category B after acquiring the hydrographic survey techniques, and understanding the utilization of hydrographic data.  Hydrographic survey and nautical chart preparation techniques are essential for maritime traffic safety and sustainable growth of seaborne trade. It is also important for disaster management planning as well as maritime environmental preservation measures against large-scale disasters,

such as tsunami and oil spill incidents. 

Seven other participants including Abraham will be attending this training are from the Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Maldives, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Palau.
