KOROR – The Ad Hoc Art Center is inviting young artists to celebrate the holiday season through its Christmas-themed workshops this December. Following the success of their first workshop since the departure of a previous instructor, the center is gearing up for another round of creative engagement at Palau Community College, Urur Labs.

Dedicated to promoting and supporting the exchange of ideas among artists and art lovers, Ad Hoc Art Center fosters an active community ready to engage with each other and the public. With programs spanning Visual Arts, Applied Arts, Performing Arts, and Literature, the center aims to inspire creativity and collaboration across diverse artistic disciplines.

“It was our first workshop ever since the previous instructor left, so we had a free theme,” shared Kortnee Tellei-Harvey of their last clay workshop, which welcomed eight enthusiastic participants. “Kids made anime characters, food items like Spam musubis, and plants and animals. It was exciting to see them express themselves in such diverse ways.”

Looking ahead, the upcoming workshop on December 10 will embrace the holiday spirit with a Christmas-themed session focused on clay art. Kortnee Tellei-Harvey expressed her hopes for the event, emphasizing the importance of fostering creativity in various forms. “I want kids to have options to express themselves in other ways. Promoting art in other places other than drawing and painting,” she said.

The Ad Hoc Art Center’s December series kicked off with Christmas Songs Workshop for ages 10 and above with Benina Berger on December 3. An Acrylic Workshop with Miel Sequeira-Holm will be on December 17. Each workshop is tailored to encourage self-expression and develop new skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Families interested in enrolling their children can contact the Ad Hoc Art Center at info@adhocartcenter.com or visit www.adhocartcenter.com.

Celebrate the holiday season with these creative and festive workshops!
