KOROR, Palau (Oct. 31, 2026) – A Filipina woman arriving in Palau on a United Airlines flight on October 31, 2026, was arrested after authorities allegedly discovered 145.15 grams of methamphetamine concealed inside her body, in another case involving the use of a person as a drug courier.

Carolyn Jaquine Jimenez was flagged by a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) K9 unit while standing in the passenger line at the airport. She was referred for secondary screening, according to a police report.
During questioning, Jimenez admitted that she had objects inside her body. She was taken to the hospital for X-rays, which revealed four foreign objects.
Authorities administered medication to help her pass the objects through a bowel movement. Four hard, oval-shaped packages were subsequently retrieved. The packages were wrapped in carbon paper and plastic and later tested positive for methamphetamine during a field test.
According to the police report, Jimenez said she was traveling to Palau to work. She explained that people who had helped her with her travel paperwork had offered to provide financial assistance in exchange for her bringing items back with her.
She was instructed to meet someone at a location near her church. The person then placed the packages inside her buttocks, according to her account.
Jimenez reportedly admitted that she suspected the items were drugs but agreed to carry them because she was desperate for money.
Jimenez faces three felony charges: attempted importation of a controlled substance, trafficking of a controlled substance and conspiracy to import a controlled substance.
Each charge carries a potential prison sentence of at least 25 years and a fine of at least $50,000 upon conviction.
The allegations have not been proven in court.
