In supporting conservation efforts in Palau, The Bank of Hawaii (BOH) had donated a check worth $2,000 to the Palau Conservation Society (PCS) on August 22.

The donated amount, which was handed by Bank of Hawai’I managers to PCS’ Vice Chairperson, was part of the bank’s annual contribution as a Corporate Partner for Conservation.

Bank of Hawaii has been a corporate partner of PCS in the past 14 years.

In 2016, Bank of Hawaii launched the Branch of Tomorrow initiative: using innovative design, digital conveniences and personal consultations to drive and enhance level of customer service. With this initiative, Bank of Hawaii is being less reliant on paper by digitizing the modern workplace and choosing environmentally safe products.

In celebration of the upcoming International Coastal Cleanup Day and World Cleanup Day on September 15, Bank of Hawaii has declared it BOH Community Service Day and the Koror branch will be conducting a beach cleanup in Babeldaob.

PCS commends and appreciates BOH for their commitment towards protecting the environment. Being aware of the daily challenges that Palau faces regarding our environment, everyone should make conservation a priority.
