The 2021 Belau National Games will close on Sunday, June 20th at the Palau Track and Field at 5pm, where over 1600 athletes and coaches will celebrate their feats in earning medals for their States, making new friends, learning a sport and participating in a national game.
Before Closing Ceremony on Sunday, there are still ongoing events to finals such as Athletics sprints finals are Saturday at 3pm at the track, Volleyball Men finals is tonight, Friday, Basketball finals are Saturday night at the PHS Gym, Baseball is also this weekend finals, plus swimming finals and softball fastpitch women finals this weekend as well. The sports of Canoe, Triathlon and open ocean swim, will all start on Saturday June 19th in the morning from 6am all the way to 4pm at the Meyuns Seaplane ramp venue.
Over 1000 medals were presented for 200 some events. There were 16 sporting events with different events in individual sports. The games provide opportunity for Palau to select athletes to represent Palau in the games of Pacific Games and Micronesian Games next year.
The Games organizing committee congratulate all athletes and States for their exceptional performances and encourages everyone to continue to engage in sports, maintain good health and wellbeing. Ministry of Health NCD program donates 150 Hydro Flask for Games Officials
As partners in the 2021 Belau Games, the organizing committee and Palau NOC extends much appreciation to Ministry of Health, NCD Office for providing 150 Hydro Flask to the Games Organizing Committee and Games officials. The Hydro Flask will be distributed to all Games Officials and CDM to promote the green games for reducing one time us of plastic bottles and keeping good health and well-being during and after the games.
