KOROR, Palau – Tonight, September 18, 2024, the Belau National Museum will host a special string band memorial concert to honor the late Naito Soaladaob. The event, scheduled from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, also celebrates the museum’s 69th anniversary.
The concert will serve as a tribute to Soaladaob’s life and enduring influence, with the theme “Ke nguked er a ngesechel a cherechar… ke mral di ngara rengmam el di blechoel,”
Naito Soaladaob is celebrated for his significant contributions to the museum and Palauan culture. He was a local plant expert who managed the museum’s plant nursery consisting of Palauan plants used for food, medicine, and building materials. His efforts were instrumental in preserving and highlighting Palau’s botanical heritage.
The event will take place at the Belau National Museum, with a $20 entrance fee that includes raffle prizes and refreshments.
