The Environmental Quality Protection Board (EQPB) has found the water at Belau National Hospital (BNH) unsafe for drinking.

The Ministry of Health and Human Services (MHHS), Division of Environmental Health took a sample test on May 27  and “found that the samples did not meet safe drinking water quality standards.”

Therefore, it is crucial that all staff and visitors of BNH refrain from consuming water from any source in the facility.

A number of Koror residents collect their drinking water from the hospital facility.

In a press release, MHHS said BNH and the EQPB are working together to address water quality issues.

The statement further added that the public and BNH will receive an update until the water supply is safe for consumption again.
