Palau Visitors Authority Chairman of the Board Ngiraibelas Tmetuchl told the media on Tuesday that a Chinese group is proposing to hold a marathon in October and bring in around 300 participants for the event.

Tmetuchl said that the proposed event is going to be self-funded and they are working with the Belau Track and Field Association, the one who is organizing marathon events.

“We feel that there has to be a balance of human activities and attractions,” Tmetuchl said, explaining further that tourists shall find reasons to come to Palau. (Rhealyn C. Pojas)
