One of the aircrafts belonging to Caroline Island Airlines (CIA), a Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) government owned airline company, crashed last week on the island of Ta in Mortlocks, an outer island of Chuuk, FSM.

According to reports from Pohnpei, there were five passengers on the plane but no one was injured.  Unofficial reports say it was pilot error, “short landing.”  Reports also said the plane landed on its front right wheel and destroyed its right wing on the run way.

The aircraft is not the same aircraft that service Palau-Yap route but is owned by the same airline company.  According to Palau authorities, that incident has no effect on the existing flight schedule of the Caroline Island Aircraft currently servicing Palau and Yap. (L.N. Reklai)
