We shall not cease from exploration. And the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first. — T.S. ELIOT

I never felt belonging anywhere  or to anyone especially after my father died. It was an odd and painful feeling. You always felt confused, l⁰ost. Moreover, it sabotaged any pursuits of any relationship for fear that I’d be abandoned sooner rather than later.

I became more aware of my fears when a friend at work asked, “What are you looking for?” Did you come to America hoping to find a home?”  He continued, “You know this country is the home of the homeless.”

“I suppose.”

Thus began the journey to find me a home.

My fear of homelessness and unbelonging needed to be corrected.  How do I do that?  Let love find you.

Love rescued me. I became a believer of Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Quite a new concept for me. In my childhood years, I was identified as one belonging to a sect of my parents. We sang “Jesus loves me this I know” but I didn’t know him, unaware of his love for me.

That was thirty one years ago. It’s been a wonderful journey.

I am a cover to cover Bible believing girl. I do see a lot of love and mercy in the Old Testament and more love and grace in the New Testament.  Great stories and poetry building my trust in him. The Holy Triune God. I have the communion of the Holy Spirit, the Love of God the Father, and the amazing Grace of Jesus Christ who paid the ransom so I can be free to be me.

I found that a home is a state of mind. Jesus came to rescue me and told me that I belong to him and its more than enough

He says, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.  For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.

Home is a state of mind. Home is where I am safe.
