My 16 year old called me on the phone and complained about my ŕules and that I was being unfair.

When I got home that evening she was watching TV.

I knew what she was doing. She was trying to control me. I wouldn’t have it.

A controlling personality is an unhealthy need to control others or situations.  Controlling people may use manipulation, threats, and intimidation to get their way.

Signs of controlling begins with criticism. Constantly criticize their children, spouse, and partner’s appearance, choices or actions.

They withhold affection as reward or punishment.  They also may try isolation- keep you away from your friends and family, trip you guilty so you depend on them, threatens you to get their way, shaming, guilting and Withdrawing like silent treatment. In social media they unfriend or block you.

Such childish behavior.

While the Bible doesn’t directly use the phrase “controlling personality”,  it addresses behavior associated with it through concepts of pride through, manipulation, and lack of compassion.
